Party pooper politicians want limits on festivals
Concilor Johnas Lambs of the Party for the Animals says that festivals in parks and natural areas must be reduced. Then Amsterdam residents may again find peace in nature.
Lambs says that rest in nature is increasingly difficult to find, Het Parool reports. Now that the festival season is over, Lambs wants the city to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of all the festivals in nature.
According to Lambs the flora and fauna laws are not always properly maintained during festivals. But his purpose is to provide rest for man. "A quiet green environment has a positive effect on physical and mental health of people."
Lambs says that he regularly receives mail from activist groups and individuals who have had enough of festivals. "I'm not saying we should ban festivals, but that we need to reduce the number or at least call a halt."
