More Dutch have trouble making payments
The amount of people unable to pay their accounts on time keeps increasing. The Credit Registration Office (Bureau Krediet Registratie) has registered 19 thousand consumers with payment problems in the last six months.
Since the crisis in 2008 the number of Dutch people with payment problems has increased by an average of 3 percent every six months. Currently there are almost 760 thousand Dutch in arrears on a loan.
The Credit Registration Office registers loans that are closed by banks and other credit providers. An account is considered in arrears after 2 to 4 months of non payment, depending on the type of credit.
