Vanished girls used camera a week after disappearance
The camera of Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers was used up to a week after they disappeared in Panama.
A spokesperson for the Kremers family said that the camera contains pictures that were taken on April 8 of a rock and some branches. The girls probably used the flash to lighten their path.
The last pictures that the girls had taken of themselves were of April 1, the day they disappeared. The photos hint that –contrary to previous beliefs - they had reached the El Pianista hike trail at 1.00pm already and not later in the afternoon.
Kris Kremers’ parents, who held a press conference in Panama recently, also said that the girls’ phones had been used after they disappeared; they had tried to call emergency phone numbers.
The Kremers traveled to Panama in a bid to find out more about their daughter’s disappearance. Kris and Lisanne vanished on April 1st while on a hike in the Boquete area in Panama, setting off an elaborate search in the Central American country. Search parties found their remains in June.
