Telegraaf wants to buy out NRC: report
The NRC Media group may be sold to De Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG). According to the Financieele Dagblad, TMG wants to take over the media company, and is currently discussing a price.
NRC Media, which owns NRC Handelsblad, has been for sale since March. TMG wants to buy the paper and website for €90 million. This price has been rejected by investment company Egeria, which owns NRC. The Financieele Dagblad writes that TMG is currently discussing a higher bid.
TMG denies that they have put a bid on NRC. In a statement to the NOS, the groups says that this is all speculation. "We are following the sale closely, however."
TMG is one of the largest media companies in The Netherlands, and owns several newspapers including De Telegraaf and the Metro. Online, TMG owns Geenstijl and Speurders. It also has shares in Sky Radio Group.
