New grants to lure foreign students total €5m
The Ministry of Education has made €5 million available for new study grants for international students. These grants are supposed to encourage top international students to study at Dutch universities.
Talented Dutch students may also receive a grant to study abroad. Minister Jet Bussemaker writes that thousands of local and international students may receive a grant of €5000 per year as allowance.
It will also be possible to do a dutch university course abroad, and mbo-facilities will receive €5 million to make it possible to cooperate internationally. International experience is highly regarded by future employers, Bussemaker says. This experience should then become the norm for every student.
These new aspects of education will help students become critical, independent thinkers, who will be able to effect change in the world through creativity, guts and ambition.
