Armin van Buuren first NL artist with 1m Spotify followers

Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren has reached a million followers on Spotify, making him the first Dutch artist to reach this milestone. This was announced by Van Buuren's record label Armada Music, on Tuesday. Spotify congratulates the DJ on his achievement, saying that he has worked hard building up his fan base on the music streaming service, and that he has "managed to strengthen the relationship between artist and fan in an innovative manner." Armin van Buuren has a weekly radio show called A State of Trance, which has helped increase his fan base. Next to that, he has playlists The Armin van Buuren Top 50 and Who's Afraid of 138?! which are very popular on the music service. "Wow! A million followers on Spotify", Van Buuren exclaims. "I would like to thank all my fans for following my personal Spotify playlists and the ASOT playlist. My label Armada music and I believe that streaming music is the future, and invest a lot of time and energy in the optimization of our playlists."
