Jeweler stabs person in possible heist

Update, 2:25 p.m., June 25: An unknown man, believed to be the attempted robber of a jewelry store in Amsterdam, died from a stab wound Thursday afternoon. The public prosecutor confirmed the death on the office's Twitter account. The prosecutor says the other person injured is a co-owner of the shop in Amsterdam West. In a message to the NL Times, the prosecutor's office says the circumstance of the stabbing is still under investigation. At least two people were injured during the apparent attempted robbery of a gold merchant, when the shopkeeper allegedly stabbed the person trying to pull off a heist, according to people at the scene. The jeweler was also injured in the incident at Goudspeurders on De Clercqstraat in Amsterdam West, according to people at the scene. Police say both of the injured people were transported to an area hospital following the incident at 11:40 a.m. Four ambulances were sent to the scene after the first call to emergency services. One of the injured people was found on De Clercqstraat, while the other was found around the corner on Elisabeth Wolffstraat. https://twitter.com/Crimescene_PRO1/status/482118782207684608
