Woman (42), son (10) die in car fire

A 42-year-old woman from Veldhoven and her 10-year-old son passed away on Saturday when their car burst into flames after an accident. The tragic incident happened around 1.00pm on the A2 highway, near Liempde. The car the woman and her son were traveling in also hit another car, but police say it is not clear if this happened before or after the fire started. The passengers in the other car did not sustain any injuries. The A2 highway was closed after the accident and traffic heading toward Den Bosch was redirected.
