Dino-auction prize pieces not sold

The priciest pieces on an online auction of dinosaur bones and fossils were not sold, according to Mark Borgman of auction house Catawiki.

Many smaller items, however, were sold for higher prices between €200 to €1,500. Borgman thinks collectors were looking to get good deals, and ended up bidding against each other after all. Two dinosaur skulls were not sold, despite a bid of €20,000 for a Edmontosaurus skull. The auction was unique in the sense that it's not often that so many items are auctioned at once, according to auctioneer Luc Hennion. Fossils usually originate from private sources from the U.S., the Netherlands, and Belgium. Among the items sold were teeth, tails, legs, and eggs of dinosaurs.
