Emmen zoo renamed Wildlands

After the renovation of the Emmen Zoo the park will continue under the new name of Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen, or just Wildlands, starting in 2016. The new name was officially revealed Wednesday afternoon by City mayor Cees Bijl.

Globrands, an Amsterdam firm, came up with the new name. The logo is a product of Koeweiden Postma. The new adventure park will open on April 1, 2016, on the Noordbargeres in Emmen. Half a year later a new theater will open next door, also under management of the adventure zoo. A spacious square will connect the two facilities with the center of the city. The Wildlands is counting on 1.3 million visitors in its first year.
