Demonstrators apprehended, The Hague
A group of about 50 people have been apprehended at the Centraal Station in The Hague. They arrived in the city to protest the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS), but were stopped by police and taken to a police station.
The Royal Military Police stopped the demonstrators when they wanted to walk to the World Forum, which is where the Summit meeting is taking place. This is prohibited. The demonstrators wanted to deliver a letter to the nuclear summit.
The Military Police is receiving assistance from the police to stem any upheaval in the city during this time. They stopped the protesters, frisked them, and took them into a bus.
The police is saying that some formalities will be dealt with at the station, before the demonstrators will be allowed to leave. This may take a few hours.
