Dutch consumer confidence up in March
Consumer confidence has been on the rise since the summer of 2013, although the willingness-to-buy hardly changed. Overall, the mood among Dutch consumer further improved in March, compared to previous months. The confidence index climbed 3 points to -7.
Consumers have been optimistic about the economic climate for 5 months in a row now, reaching its highest level in 7 years with the indicator at 24. March showed the biggest increase yet. The willingness-to-buy remains low, and people are holding off buying larger items even more than the month before. People's opinion's about their financial situation over the past 12 months was slightly more negative, but improved with regards to their view of the financial situation in the next 12 months.
