Holland Casino strike set for Friday

Staff at Holland Casino will strike on Friday. The strikers  are demanding a better social plan for the employees who are going to be axed due to cuts. This concerns several hundreds of people. Trade union leader Huug Brinkers of the Unie says that Holland Casino is doing better, financially, now. "Room now also has to made for an improvement of the social plan." But this question is not being head. "The personnel is sick of it and that's why we are not going to work on Friday", NOS reports. The strike will take place on the 14th of March from 8 p.m. in the casinos in Rotterdam and Utrecht. Holland Casino earlier pointed out that it would be economizing €36 million. Several hundreds of employees will lose their jobs over this. "Friday evening is a busy evening", Brinkers says. According to him, it is very likely that the casinos will have to shut their doors. Long-term strikes in the future are not being ruled out.
