A male colleague who was with her suffered serious injuries. A man who tried to help was also stabbed, but his injuries were not life threatening. A similar drama unfolded not long afterward at a law firm in Erkath, a few kilometers from Dusseldorf. Here lawyer Guido Wacker (43) was killed. A colleague escaped with minor injuries. German police said early on that they suspected the killings were the work of the same person. The man who was arrested over the border at Nijmegen is said to been involved ina diveroce case that was handled by the lawyers he killed. It is not clear whether he was taken to a Dutch or German police station.
