Two charged in paperboy shooting

Two men from West-African descent were arrested by Groningen police, Tuesday morning, for shooting a 35-year-old newspaper delivery man last month and holding 4 Vietnamese men against their will, late last year. Following months of investigation into the two suspects, the police raided three different locations Tuesday morning, one of them harboring a weed plantation.

Soon after the newspaper delivery man was shot, police concluded it concerned a score settling in the criminal circuit. The Vietnamese men were held hostage in a Groningen home late last year, and managed to escape 4 days later, after which they immediately contacted the police. The suspects are part of a group of West-African men who own several weed plantations in Groningen, according to the police. They recruit Vietnamese to do the work for them. During the raid police apprehended 2 Vietnamese and 2 men from Guinea. One of them was the resident of the home.
