Bar owner, 84, tied up, robbed; three arrested

Police arrested 3 men in Stein, Saturday, on suspicion of robbing an 84-year-old café owner from Genhout in Beek, on the night of Sunday, November 24 to Monday, November 25, 2013.

The café owner was working in the back of his establishment on the Hubertusstraat after closing time, when he was suddenly seized and tied by some men. The robbers only left with a small amount of cash after searching the place. Police investigation and an anonymous tip led the police to a 28-year-old man from Hoensbroek, a 26-year-old man from Beek, and a 30-year-old man from Geleen. The men were arrested on the street and are detained.
