Police seeking Borst witnesses

Police investigators are calling on anyone who spoke to or saw former minister Els Borst after she left the D66 congress in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on Saturday, to contact them. Detectives are trying to retrace what exactly happened to Borst. From a variety of studies and tests it became clear that Borst died from injuries she sustained.

The autopsy was not conclusive about the exact time of death, according to Willem Woelders, acting chief of police for Central Netherlands, who says: 'it's possible she lost her life on Saturday evening or Sunday.' Two friends found the body of Els Borst Monday evening in the garage of her home in Bilthoven. They were concerned after Borst did not attend a living room concert on Sunday without cancellation, which was very uncharacteristic. She also did not return voice mails or answer her phone. The investigation into Els Borst's death is still ongoing. Anyone who saw her or spoke to her after Saturday's party congress is asked to contact the police.
