Netherlands eliminated from Davis Cup

The Dutch tennis team was eliminated from the Davis Cup after a defeat from defending champions Czech Republic. In the first round of matches, Czech player Tomas Berdych beat Thiemo de Bakker De Bakker 3-0, Ians Live reports. Berdych beat De Bakker 6-1, 6-4, 6-3. The Czech team will face Japan in the quarterfinal match to be held in Japan April 4-6. De Bakker replaced the originally nominated Robin Haase, who was tired after spending almost eight hours in the previous two days on the court in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava, The Associated Press said.
