Horses running loose on highway

A horse was found galloping along the A28 freeway, Friday afternoon, between Harderwijk and Ermelo, causing traffic to back up for 4.5 miles. Both lanes were closed down. A police car drove along the animal to keep traffic from passing. Only after the horse was caught, around 16:00, the lanes were released again. The horse had thrown off its rider in the forest next to the highway and had ventured out on its own, according to the police.
