Days of delays after train derailment
Trains traveling between Hilversum and Naarden-Bussum will be shut down until Monday at the earliest as investigators continue to examine Wednesday's derailment of a NS Intercity train. Bus service between the two stations has been arranged throughout the closure, adding 30 to 60 minutes to travel time.
There were no significant injuries in the accident. It took place at about 4 p.m. shortly after pulling out of the Hilversum station. Carriage wheels slipped off the track and wedged into the surrounding gravel less than two hundred meters away from the platform.
Authorities say security systems, switches, and 255 meters of rail may need to be replaced, though the power lines above the tracks have been repaired.

Passengers traveling between Amersfoort and either Amsterdam Centraal or Schiphol should change trains at Utrecht Centraal, the NS said. Those riding between Utrecht Centraal and Almere Centraal should change at Amsterdam Zuid.
