France's Hollande to visit

French President François Hollande will make a formal visit to the Netherlands on Monday January 20^th, the Ministry of General Affairs had announced.

Hollande’s visit, the Ministry said, will be in light of “further strengthening the ties between the Netherlands and France, with special attention to economic relations.” Hollande will visit with King Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Hague.

Hollande, a social democrat, has been France’s President since May 15^th 2012. Volkskrant daily poked fun at him last month in a collage of photos on its front page that featured his “year of awkwardly botched handshakes with other world leaders.”
