Grenade threat in Limburg sends one to jail

A 41-year-old man in Geleen, Limburg, was arrested by police after threatening people in a bar with hand grenades. Investigators searching the man's home later discovered several World War II relics that briefly shut down part of his neighborhood on Tielensstraat. The man was taken into custody at about 1 a.m. Saturday morning after the disturbance in the bar was reported to police. Officers found him on Nachtegaalstraat with three deactivated hand grenades in his possession. Police have said the weapons found with the man, and those in his house, pose no danger to the area.

The Explosieven Opruimingsdienst Defensie, an explosives disposal unit, is planning to remove the war relics from the man's home on Monday.
