More restaurants in spite of crisis

The number of restaurants showed an increase in the past five years with 3.1 percent, despite the economic crisis. The four large cities even showed an increase of 7.7 percent, as evidenced form a study by Van Spronsen & Partners consultancy.Not everywhere saw an increase of restaurants. Enschede, Den Bosch, and Maastricht, to name a few, saw a drop in their number of restaurants. Dishes_made_by_Michelin_star_restaurants

Wikimedia commons Among Italian and other Southern European restaurants, the Netherlands also gained a lot of Japanese, Thai, and Indonesian restaurants. At the same time the traditional Chinese-Indian restaurant became less popular, evidenced by the closure of 52 restaurants. The Dutch and French kitchen also showed a drop in popularity.
