Ex Curacao PM Schotte's house raided
The Public Prosecution raided the residence of the former Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gerrit Schotte , early Monday morning (local time), reported various media on the island. Reporters witnessed the raid.A prosecutor and several police officers were involved in the raid. The local media links the operation to the ongoing investigation into the murder of politician Helmin Wiels. For now the Prosecution refers to a press release, to be given later in the day.

After the parliamentary elections in late 2012 the two openly argued. Wiels was killed on a beach on May 5, 2013. On Wednesday, December 18th , the first session will take place, where the suspects, charged with involvement in the murder of Wiels, will stand trial. Schotte had to resign late September 2012. During his reign protest movements accused him of corruption in public government limited companies.
