Parties disagree on EU bail-out fund

Political parties VVD, SP and CDA have submitted a motion against a European bail-out fund for banks. The motion that was spearheaded by VVD Second Chamber member Mark Harbers pleads for “nationally cordoned funds”, which should prevent the Dutch taxpayer from suffering for problems of non-Dutch banks. It will be tabled this afternoon, ahead of the meeting in Brussels next week by the European Finance Ministers at which they will be discussing forming an EU banking union.
