Netherlands Defence Will Need Thousands

The Ministry of Defence will need thousands of additional reservists over the next seven years, the Volkskrant reports. Dutch Army / Flickr Reserve soldiers are required for the deployment in crisis areas and to replace regular soldiers stationed abroad. It is estimated that the Netherlands armed forces will need nearly 20,000 reserve soldiers in coming seven years to fill vacancies, the paper said. The armed forces staff has halved since the 1990s, according to the Volkskrant.
