Arriva Testing New Payment System in Netherlands

Transport group Arriva is planning to test a new mobile payment system in Groningen and Friesland in the Netherlands, Telecom Paper reports. The new payment system will allow passengers to check in and out using their smartphone. The Touch&Travel system will be installed on a number of rail and bus lines, the Verkeersnet reports. Arriva / Wikipedia Customers will be able to pay for the travel through direct debit and check their payments on an online portal.
