Ranomi Kromowidjojo Wins Gold
The Netherlands’ Ranomi Kromowidjojo received her first individual world title by winning gold in the women's 50-meter freestyle at the FINA World Championships.

Zakke/Wikimedia Commons Kromowidjojo, the reigning champion at 50 and 100 freestyle in the 2012 London Olympics, raced to a 24.05-second victory on Sunday evening. Australia’s Cate Campbell of Australia placed second in 24.14 while Britain’s Francesca Halsall snatched the bronze in 24.30, her country's first medal of the championships. Kromowidjojo is currently holding nine career world medals with three golds, one silver, and five bronzes.
