Aruba’s Pre-Clearance Measures

Aruba is initiating a pre-clearance deal with the Netherlands for customs and immigration authorities at Aruba’s airport to approve travelers to the Dutch country. On Wednesday, Secretary of State Fred Teeven received the final details on the arrangements. Palm Beach, Aruba
David Stanley/flickr The Dutch government stated that Teeven considers the report as “an important first step towards the desired pre-clearance facility for passengers traveling from Aruba to Europe.” An active assembly has already suggested the opening of a pilot project 'Happy Flow' to allow EU passport holders to receive clearance right away by scanning their travel papers. This is being applied to a certain extent at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. Aruba Prime Minister Mike Eman commented that this plan would “lay a solid foundation for our kingdom.” Source: caribjournal
