Most Socially Oriented Universities

ScienceWorks and Elsevier just published the Valorisation Ranking 2013 to decide what research universities in the country contributed the most to the Dutch society and economy. University of Twente
Tuuur /flickr Three categories were included in this year’s Valorisation Ranking. Enterprising adds up 40% in the overall ranking. 20% is communication while 40% is collaboration. For the overall ranking, The University of Twente finished first primarily for their exceptional result in the enterprising nomination. The school topped in motivating and assisting entrepreneurship within the students and staff. They also developed the largest Science Park in the country. Technological Universities of Delft follows The University of Twente while Eindhoven ranked third. In Communication, which comprises of presence in media and public debates, Tilburg University secured the first place. University of Amsterdam and Wageningen University & Research Centre are at no. 2 and 3 respectively. The last category is collaboration, where Eindhoven University of Technology did extremely well through the support of industry, civil organizations, and academic establishments. From 2010 to 2012, it has acquired 97 new partners. Based on the report by scienceworks.nl, the top 5 institutions that made it to Elsevier Science Valorisation Ranking are as follows: University of Twente, Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, Wageningen University & Research Centre, and Leiden University.
