Netherlands is Europe’s Top Broadband Users
Based on a study by the European Commission, the Netherlands leads in broadband uptake and comes second in usage of Next-generation access (NGA), which includes broadband upgrades.

Over 99.95% of Dutch households had broadband access at the end of last year while the total acess of the European Union was around 95.5 percent. 98.4% of Dutch households also avail Next-generation access, which has a minimum of 30mbs of downloading speed. This is in comparison with the 53.8 percent in the EU.
According to telecompaper, KPN, a telecommunications and ICT service provider in the Netherlands, had a 41.8% market share in the first month of 2013. Other European branches only amounted 42.8%.
In January, the Dutch population’s uptake of fixed broadband subscriptions skyrocketed at 40.2%, which was the highest number in Europe.
