Wesley Sneijder Upset Over Losing Captaincy

Wesley Sneijder has expressed his disappointment at losing his Netherlands captaincy. He became captain for the Netherlands team in 2012. But Louis van Gaal, the team’s present coach, has chosen Van Persie to replace him. Wesley Sneijder in 2010, Holland vs. Slovakia

He told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that the announcement surprised and hurt him. He said that he worked hard as captain but he has to accept the decision. His current team, the Galatasaray, might also let him go. The club’s president Unal Aysal said they are planning to offer other players to join them. Based on the games he played since signing with the team, he failed to make a good impression. Aysal told Turkish newspaper Sabah that they might decide to sell him for a €15 million offer.
