22 US Nuclear Weapons Based in the Netherlands

(flickr) In a documentary for National Geographic, he revealed the presence of nuclear weapons in the Netherlands. He said in the interview that the missiles were “absolutely pointless” part of a tradition in military thinking. There had been speculations about the existence of US nuclear weapons on Dutch land for so many years. In 2009, WikiLeaks reported that there were nuclear weapons in the Netherlands and exposed thousands of US diplomatic cables on its site. In 2007, it provided further leaks on the storage of the US nuclear weapons in a vault in Volkel airbase during the 1960’s. However, European and American politicians criticized these classified information.
