Song for New King Presented

The Dutch radio station Radio 2 presented the official song for the new King, ‘het Koningslied’, on Friday. The video clip will follow on Monday at 12.30 pm. The song is meant for everyone who supports the royal family. The nation put their dreams forward as inspiration for the text, which the famous Dutch artists Guus Meeuwis, Alain Clark, Daphne Deckers and Jack Poels eventually wrote. A total of fifty artists made vocal contributions to the track. Nu.nl reported that singer Marco Borsato started the song and that his composer John Ewbank composed it. Within hours the song with music by the well-known Dutch Orchestra, Metropole Orkest, and artist Carel Kraayenhof, reached number 1 in the Dutch iTunes list. A sing-along concert will be held in Ahoy, the large indoor sporting arena in Rotterdam, during the inauguration. The new monarchs will be able to follow the concert live in Amsterdam. RTL.nl reported that a large number of people said via Twitter that they were not impressed with the new song for Willem-Alexander.
