Fewer Bicycle Taxis

The city of Amsterdam will reduce the number of bicycle taxis from approximately 200 to 100 because of the danger they pose on the road.Authorities will be stricter in issuing permits to the bicycle taxi companies. Four of the bigger businesses said they insisted on improvements for years, but that they are now being punished by no longer being issued licenses. Parool.nl reports that there are taxis driving around with two flat tires and drivers smoking joint. Last week a drunk driver caused a collision in the city center of Amsterdam. Another drunk driver drove into the Central Station.
