De Pijp fire rages

A fire started in a physiotherapy practice in the Amsterdam neighborhood de Pijp causing some damage to the photo studio of internationally known photographer Erwin Olaf. No injuries were reported at the scene of the blaze on Oude Ijselstraat. NOS quoted witnesses on the scene saying that windows were blown out of the smoke-damaged studio. Meanwhile, photos and video from RTV Noord-Holland and AT5 show black clouds of smoke above the area in Amsterdam.   RTV Noord-Holland reports that the fire started around 3:15pm, and firefighters extinguished the blaze within 45 minutes. The famous photographer was not in his studio during the fire. He arrived shortly after emergency crews cleared the building. The fire started in the courtyard of the house next to the photo studio, according to the fire department. A cause has not yet been determined.
