Stint electric cargo bikes are not safe enough for passenger transport, TNO concluded after studying the electric bikes. According to Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen of Infrastructure and Water Management, this means that Stints will only be allowed back on the road after adjustments have been made to the vehicle, NOS reports.

Measurements will be taken at two railway crossings in Oss following a fatal accident involving a Stint electric cargo bike and a train at the crossing on Braakstraat in September. The measurements will focus on electromagnetic radiation from the level crossing installation, the overhead lines and the train, and what effect this may have on a Stint, ANP reports.

The first tests will be done on Wednesday. Then from Thursday measurements will be taken at the Braakstraat crossing for five or six days, the municipality of Oss said.

Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen of Infrastructure and Water Managements considers it possible that "some form of the Stint" electric cargo bikes will eventually be allowed to ride on Dutch roads again. "But the doubts about safety must be removed", she said during a parliamentary debate on the matter on Tuesday, NU.nl reports.

"I do not see a way out, now that the government does not want to talk to us about how we can get the Stint back on the road. It's over", director Edwin Renzen said to RTL Nieuws.

Stint Urban Mobility owner Edwin Renzen wants daycare Het Kinderstraatje in Almere to retract a lawsuit filed against Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen of Infrastructure, and offered the owner of the daycare, Michelle van Zundert, a brand new Stint next year in return, if the company still exists by then that is, the Telegraaf reports.

The Stint electric cargo bike involved in a fatal railway accident in Oss last month, was repaired four times since the summer of 2017. It had its battery replaced three times, and once went in for repairs to the bike's throttle, a spokesperson for Stint Urban Mobility confirmed to NU.nl after reports by the Telegraaf.

A fundraiser was launched on Friday for the victims of a fatal railway accident in Oss on Thursday morning. By Sunday over 200 thousand euros had been raised, ANP reports.

The fundraiser was started by Nick Nietveld from Almere. He was so shaken by the deaths of the four children that he decided to take action. His goal was to raise 60 thousand euros. That amount was surpassed within a day.

The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate will investigate the ferry services in Amsterdam following an accident on Sunday in which 13 people were hurt. As soon as the police investigation into the accident is done, the Inspectorate will conduct a broader investigation, Het Parool reports.

They want the court to force Schiphol to properly monitor noise pollution caused by air traffic, and for violations to be punished, a spokesperson for the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate confirmed to NU.nl after reports in the Volkskrant.

A Boeing Dreamliner's leaking fuel tank grounded a TUI flight from Schiphol to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica early this year. The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate launched an investigation, as this is not the first Dreamliner to have fuel tank problems, AD reports.

The incident happened on January 19th. Shortly before departure from Schiphol, it was discovered that the Dreamliner was dripping kerosene. The passengers were already on the plane, preparing for takeoff.

A freight train carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) derailed in Nieuwdorp in Zeeland on Monday night. No one was injured and there was no leakage or risk of explosion, according to the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate. The cleanup is expected to take until early Wednesday morning, AD reports.

Authorities are investigating a collision between two planes at Schiphol airport this morning. The accident happened when a U.S. Airways Boeing 757 pulling into a gate clipped the wing of a stationary KLM airplane.
