PVV city councilor in The Hague Willie Dille posted a video on Facebook on Wednesday in which she said that she was gang-raped by Muslims in March last year. The 53-year-old politician looks tired and emaciated in the now-removed video, newspaper AD reports. The PVV released a statement asking that Dillie be left in peace.

They are looking for someone who "deals wit things with humor and perspective", radiates a vision, and is "accessible and approachable for all sections of Amsterdam society", according to a confidential draft profile drawn up by the party leaders, which the Telegraaf managed to get hold of.

Parties in at least Maastricht, Venray, Beek, and Zeewolde demanded that the votes in the municipal elections on Wednesday be recounted, NU.nl reports. 

In principle, votes are only recounted if mistakes were made or there is evidence of fraud. In all four these cases, parties want the votes recounted over the division of city council seats - the difference between two parties in each municipality is so minimal that an extra vote or two could mean an extra seat.

In Maastricht, the D66 is two votes short of an extra seat.

Rotterdam's mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb would not take back his controversial remarks on Salafism. Last month the mayor, a Muslim himself, caused uproar when during an interview he stated that every Muslim is a bit of a Salafist. Salafism is an ultra-conservative branch within the Sunni Islam.

"There were no wrong words used in the interview, but perhaps the radio is too volatile of a medium"; Aboutaleb told the city council on Friday. The mayor's provocative remark was heard during an interview on the radio-program Dit is de Dag.

The Amsterdam city council meeting was suspended for a time on Thursday afternoon while three men dressed as blackface Zwarte Pieten, complete with gold rings in their ears and red lips, were removed from the public gallery. Officially they were removed because the blackface makeup made them unrecognizable and they thereby violated a ban on wearing face-covering clothing in public buildings, AD reports.

Half of The Hague's subsidies are not distributed according to the uniform rules and regulations in place for this purpose, the Court of Auditors in The Hague concluded in a report. The city council is unable to fulfill its supervisory role as it is improperly informed and the council doesn't check whether the subsidy issued is actually used for the intended social goals, according to the report titled "Fair sharing", ANP reports.

Wednesday's Amsterdam city council meeting devolved into shouting and Nazi comparisons to such a point that the meeting was called to an early end. While fighting between Amsterdam politicians is not uncommon, it brining a meeting to a premature end is almost unheard of, Het Parool reports.

The Amsterdam Mayor and Aldermen submitted a proposal to the city council to ban beer bikes from the city center. Sustainability alderman Abdeluheb Choho also plans to create an environmental zone in the city center banning polluting scooters.

A number of Rijswijk city councilors have received threatening letter after the council agreed with the arrival of an asylum center in the municipality last week. Both Rijswjk mayor Michiel Bezuijen and Prime Minister Mark Rutte called this "totally unacceptable". The Prime Minister went as far as to describe the incidents as bizarre, appalling and reprehensible.

An Amsterdam official and his wife were both arrested for a "sophisticated" scheme involving fraud, forgery and embezzlement of millions of euros from the city. The municipality, prosecutor and police are involved in an ongoing investigation into the plot, the mayor's office said in a statement.

Amsterdam mayor Eberhard van der Laan and the city's aldermen want to build a large, underground bicycle parking garage for 7,000 bikes on the south side of Amsterdam Centraal Station. The storage is planned for an area between Prins Hendrikkade and the pathway to the station, just west of the entrance to Damraak, in an area called the "Open Havenfront," the city announced on Wednesday.

Utrecht has been monitoring 19 alleged jihadists, Mayor Jan van Zanen wrote in a letter to the city council. According to information released by news portal DUIC on Wednesday, six are radicalized Utrecht residents who have gone abroad, nine have returned from abroad, two have been held from leaving the city and another couple have since died.
