KLM ground crew workers are on strike between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. this morning. During that time, KLM will take no hold baggage on board. The airline also canceled a total of 16 flights - nine departures and seven arrivals. All canceled flights are flights within Europe, according to flight information from Schiphol.
A malfunction in Eindhoven Airport's baggage system on Tuesday morning caused some issues at the airport. All departures from the airport were delayed. Some passengers missed their flights. And some flights left with not all baggage on board, NOS reports.
Due to the malfunction, all baggage had to be checked in manually. "That takes much longer than through the normal system", a spokesperson for the airport said to NOS.
A few thousand suitcases were left behind at Schiphol Airport after a malfunction in the baggage system over the weekend. There is currently so much luggage at the airport, that some suitcases are even stored under an overpass on the site, NH Nieuws reports.
The malfunction happened on Saturday and was fixed that same day. "We are now in the process of sending the suitcases, but because it involves a few thousand, it takes a while", a spokesperson for the airport said to the regional broadcaster.
