Twenty years after the fact, a suspect is finally standing trial for the rape and murder of Nicole van den Hurk from Eindhoven. On Monday suspect Jos de G. told the court in Den Bosch that he definitely did not kill the 15 year old girl in 1995, and if he did have sex with her, he cannot remember it.
During a pre-trial review in Den Bosch on Thursday, the Public Prosecution Authority (OM) dropped the homicide charge against Jos de G., the accused killer of teenaged girl Nicole van den Hurk from Eindhoven. The 15-year-old was found murdered 19 years ago after having been missing for months.
Upon hearing the news that a suspect in Nicole van den Hurk's murder was arrested nearly 20 years after the crime, her stepbrother was cautious to show any happiness about the arrest, or even optimism that police caught the right guy.
