Second explosion hits Amsterdam home within a week as police investigate possible link
A home on Gerard Callenburgstraat in Amsterdam’s Bos en Lommer neighborhood was targeted by an explosive for the second time in less than a week. Police are investigating whether the two incidents are connected, AT5 reports.
Police and firefighters received a report of the blast at around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was injured. However, the damage to the building has been increasing. After the first explosion on Thursday night, the front door was already blackened. The latest blast caused the windows to shatter.
The first explosion at the same home occurred during the night of Thursday, July 9.
A forensic police team collected evidence at the scene Sunday morning. Police are asking witnesses and anyone with information about the explosion to come forward.
Authorities are also asking residents with useful footage, including recordings from video doorbells, to report what they know.
