New Amsterdam-Paris train from €19 will stop in Haarlem, The Hague, Roosendaal & Gent

A new rail connection between Amsterdam and Paris will begin operating Dec. 14, offering travelers a roughly seven-hour journey between the Dutch and French capitals, NOS reports.

Tickets will start at 19 euros for passengers traveling between the Netherlands and France. Travelers boarding in Belgium will be able to buy tickets starting at 10 euros.

The route includes nine intermediate stops. Confirmed stops are Haarlem, The Hague, Rotterdam, Lage Zwaluwe and Gent, along with additional stations making up the full nine-stop itinerary between Amsterdam and Paris. GoVolt said it deliberately chose to route trains via Gent rather than Brussels, arguing there are already sufficient international connections to the Belgian capital.

The train will run once daily in each direction. It is not expected to be faster than existing services, including Eurostar, but is designed as a price-competitive alternative on the Amsterdam–Paris corridor.

The service will be operated by GoVolt, a low-cost rail company based in Breda that has also been running international train routes to Hamburg and Berlin since this spring.
