Harry Styles stage under review after visibility complaints in Amsterdam shows

Harry Styles’ production team has announced it will review and modify the stage setup for the Together, Together Tour after widespread criticism over obstructed views. At the opening shows in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, numerous fans standing on the floor reported they could hardly see the performance, AD has reported.

Fans positioned close to the stage said the setup was too tall, forcing them to look upward at an awkward angle and leaving the singer frequently out of view when he moved toward the rear of the stage.

The stage design includes enormous catwalks and elevated walkways stretching up to 100 metres, which in places are raised above ground level. Fans posting on TikTok and X said these large structures obstructed their view entirely, with many summarising the experience by saying: “I only saw a bridge.”

The frustration is particularly strong among VIP ticket holders, who paid up to €350 per ticket. “Why does a VIP ticket have reduced visibility? We can’t see anything of the main stage at all. This is a total scam and false advertising,” a visitor wrote on X. They were placed in designated floor sections with the expectation of having the clearest view of the performance and the singer.

Attendees said they were only able to watch the support act, Robyn, through the video screens, as those on the floor could not clearly see where she was positioned on stage.

Beyond the visibility problems, fans are also reporting widespread issues with the audio at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Online complaints mention strong echoes, high-pitched speaker feedback, and an overpowering bass that reportedly drowned out Harry Styles’ vocals.

In an official response, management told Variety it has taken note of the complaints. A spokesperson stated that the open-floor design was deliberately chosen to give fans more freedom of movement and enable them to experience the show from multiple perspectives.

The team has now admitted that sightlines in certain floor sections are too restricted. These areas are being assessed, and the stage will be modified where possible over the coming days, in line with safety requirements. The issue is particularly significant as the pop star is scheduled to perform 10 shows at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
