Child in stroller dies after car crash in Maastricht; Driver arrested

The child who was involved in a traffic accident in Maastricht has died after being struck by a car while sitting in a stroller, police said.

The child was in a stroller at the time of the collision. Police said it is unclear how the woman is doing.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man from Maastricht, was arrested. Authorities are still investigating how the accident occurred.

The crash happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Dorpstraat in Maastricht. Police officers arriving at the scene found a woman and her child with severe injuries. Both were rushed to a hospital, where the boy later died from his injuries.
