Police arrest 19-year-old suspect in Tilburg shooting incident
A 19-year-old man from Tilburg was arrested on Monday in connection with a shooting that occurred on the evening of November 4. He is being held on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
Around 6 p.m. on November 4, police were called to reports of gunfire on Corellistraat in Tilburg’s Stokhasselt neighborhood. At the scene, officers discovered three homes and a car that had been damaged, along with shell casings and traces of blood. The shooting created significant alarm in the neighborhood, with police warning that the situation was hazardous and that nearby residents could have been struck.
Shortly after the incident, two men aged 22 and 30 arrived at a hospital with injuries. Both were taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the shooting. The two men are suspected of acting as accomplices or being directly involved in a confrontation that led up to the shooting.
The damaged homes and car on Corellistraat are believed to be connected to them. Authorities have indicated that the incident was a deliberate act, likely tied to a dispute within the criminal circuit.
As part of the search for the 19-year-old suspect, police made his name and images public. He was taken into custody on Monday evening and is currently being questioned.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the examining magistrate on Tuesday, who will decide whether he will remain in custody.
