Gambling regulator threatens three influencers with fines over illegal betting ads
The Dutch Gambling Authority (Ksa) has threatened three influencers with fines of up to 75,000 euros each. According to the regulator, the influencers shared social media videos showing themselves gambling with illegal operators and urged their followers to join in.
The influencers named are Stiefunspeelt, Locos Turcos, and Buurtwachtt. The Gambling Authority has informed them that advertising illegal gambling is prohibited. They must take down the videos and posts within 48 hours and refrain from promoting illegal operators going forward. Failure to comply could result in a fine of 25,000 euros per violation, potentially reaching up to 75,000 euros.
Should the influencers fail to comply, the Gambling Authority will request that the platforms remove the videos and posts. The Ksa has recently stepped up enforcement against influencers, citing their often young audiences as a reason why such videos and similar content must be strictly controlled.
As of July 1, 2025, the Dutch Gambling Authority (Ksa) has prohibited sponsorships by online gambling operators. Such sponsorships are no longer allowed. Additionally, any advertising for online gambling must not be aimed at minors, a requirement that is strictly enforced under the rules.
Previously, the Ksa has taken action against other influencers, including LeftlanePapi, who was issued a penalty notice after continuing to share videos promoting illegal gambling websites despite prior warnings.
