Brawl at child's birthday party in Alblasserdam; One badly hurt, two arrested
An argument at a child’s birthday party in Alblasserdam on Sunday escalated to the point that several police units had to intervene. One person was rushed to the hospital with a serious head injury. Two people were arrested.
The birthday party was held at a restaurant on Scledeplein with about 50 guests, AD reported. At around 4:30 p.m., an argument broke out between some attendees. It escalated to a brawl, and the police were called in.
A man sustained a head injury so severe that an air ambulance was dispatched to the scene. He was rushed to the hospital in unknown condition.
Two people fled the scene, but the police tracked them down and arrested them a short time later.
The police are investigating what happened, including the two detainees’ involvement in events.
