Pro-Palestinian protesters block train tracks near Den Haag Centraal

On Saturday afternoon, between 10 and 15 pro-Palestinian activists walked onto the railway switch area near Den Haag Centraal station, briefly disrupting train traffic, police confirmed. The protesters were detained and transported to another location for further processing.

The demonstration began around 2:20 p.m., with activists positioning themselves approximately 100 meters from the platforms. They carried Palestinian flags and banners with messages including, “As a public transport fan, I do something unforgivable out of pure despair,” and “Stop genocide now, without delay!” According to the protesters, the goal was to pressure the Dutch cabinet to take action against Israel.

Train traffic at the station was disrupted during the protest but has since resumed, a spokesperson for Dutch Railways (NS) reported. One train still departed the station while another entered during the action. ANP reporters at the scene noted that the driver of an incoming train opened the door to express anger toward the protesters.

Police quickly intervened, removing the activists from the tracks. During their removal, the demonstrators reportedly chanted pro-Palestinian slogans.
