Man arrested after kicking officer unconscious, threatening second with knife
A 25-year-old man from Alkmaar has been arrested after he violently attacked two municipal enforcement officers, known as boa’s, in the city center on Wednesday evening, according to NOS. One officer was kicked in the head and knocked unconscious, while the other was threatened with a knife during the confrontation at Clarissenbolwerk, a park where scooter traffic is prohibited.
The incident began when the two municipal enforcement officers stopped the man as he rode his scooter illegally through the park.
During the altercation, the man kicked one of the enforcement officers in the head, causing him to lose consciousness. The suspect then pulled out a knife and threatened the second boa. That officer was also struck multiple times.
After the attack, the suspect abandoned his scooter and fled on foot. Police apprehended him shortly afterward in the vicinity.
The officer who was kicked unconscious was transported to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a concussion. He was released later the same evening. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
