The Dutch embassy in Israel was damaged by an Iranian missile strike

The Dutch embassy building in Tel Aviv was lightly damaged by an Iranian air strike on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said. A window was broken, a spokesperson said. The embassy’s space itself was not damaged, and none of the staff working at the embassy suffered any injuries.

Work at the embassy has continued unabated, the spokesperson added. “If necessary” the ministry will take “extra precautions.” Staff safety is being continously watched and has “top priority,” according to the spokesperson.

The Iranian strike hit a district with many embassies in it. Several embassies that are housed in one tower have reported that their building was not hit. The Dutch embassy was in the building next to it.

Israeli media outlets have reported that buildings in the area were severely damaged and that several people sustained injuries during the attack. Tel Aviv was one of the cities in Israel that was struck by Iran on Thursday morning. Dozens of people were injured in the attacks throughout the country.

The conflict between Israel and Iran began a week ago when Israel launched major airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and military sites, with the goal of deterring what they perceive to be Iran’s growing military influence in the region. These strikes resulted in the deaths of top figures within the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and caused significant damage to vital infrastructure.
